| The 2009 Audi R8 is Volkswagen's premium brand of high-performance sports Coupe, inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo. For 2009, the R8 is available as a two-seat R8 Coupe quattro with all-wheel-drive and R8 Coupe quattro with Auto R tronic . A 420-horsepower V8 mid-mounted engine delivers 317 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual or Audi's R-tronic automated manual, which can be shifted manually, are offered as transmission choices. The Audi R8 has a light weight aluminum body and Quattro all-wheel drive, which takes the car from zero to 62 mph timings in 4.4 seconds flat, to achieve a maximum speed of 185 mph. Standard features include automatic climate control, multi-function three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, electronic cruise control, a driver information system within the instrument cluster, HomeLink, Sirius Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, auxiliary audio input jack, 10-way power driver and front passenger seats, heated Alcantara sport seats, power adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, and a nine-speaker audio system with satellite radio. Audi's ESP traction/stability system is standard, as are "magnetic ride" shock absorbers, 19-inch wheels, xenon headlights, LED brake lights and turn signals. |
